First, Download the rar file from here and extract it

Here are the steps to add your IE extension to your browser

  • While on your desktop or anywhere else on your computer, either press the start menu or hit ctrl+R and write cmd and hit enter

  • Once that is done correctly you will see that there is a black screen/console in front of you

  • Type “regedit” and hit enter

  • After a few seconds you will see a message box asking you, whether you want to allow this request or not. Click on “yes”.

  • Now you will see a tree on the left side of the window.

    • Find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and expand it

    • Then find Software and expand it

    • You will then see Microsoft, expand it You will then see Microsoft, expand it

    • Then Internet Explorer

    • Then Extensions

  • Once you expand Extensions you will see folders that have names like {*some numbers and characters*}

  • If you see this then you are on the right track

  • Right click on Extensions, then New, then Key, set the name of the Key to “{bc241f73-021c-461d-acce-795f893f2c4b}”

  • Now add the following Strings in the directory you created

    • ButtonText – Set the value to “Add this site” for the toolbar button

    • HotIcon – Set the full path of the “mygiftiq-icon.ico” file that contains the three color icons.

    • Icon – Set the full path of the “ygiftiq-icon-grayscale.ico” file that contains the three grayscale icons.

    • Default Visible – To make the toolbar button to appear on the Internet Explorer toolbar by default, set Default Visible to “Yes”, otherwise set Default Visible to “No”.

  • Now for your extension to work, you need to add the following in the same extension

    • Create a new string value, CLSID, in the registry

      • Add the following to its value “{1FBA04EE-3024-11D2-8F1F-0000F87ABD16}”

    • Create a new string value, Script, in the registry

      • Set the value of Script to the full path of “background.js” to run

  • If you have followed everything correctly, you will now be seeing a gift button in your extensions.
